Lalaloopsy Inspired Hat Version 2

I created this hat for my daughter's halloween costume. It was made to represent Ember Flicker Flame. The only thing that was changed from my original pattern was the length hair length. Here is the pattern:

Lalaloopsy Inspired Hat V.2

Hair:
* On the hair I did one long piece and the remaining are short lengths. I took the long piece and attached it aprox. 1/3 of the way, with the end sticking out, looped it up and attached it another third of the way with the end sticking out.*

Long Piece:
Leaving about 2 inches of a tail
Ch. 35, 3 Dc in 2nd Ch from the hook and in each remaining chains.
Fasten off, leaving about 2 inches of tail

Short Piece:
Leaving about 2 inches of a tail
Ch. 12, 3 Dc in 2nd Ch from the hook and in each remaining chains.
Fasten off, leaving about 2 inches of tail

*Make however many you need (I used one long piece, described how above, and three short pieces.) It should start to spiral but sometimes while crocheting it will get twisted and will stop spiraling. Just turn it with your hand using the direction it was going as a guide. I just use the tails to tie them on the hat, knot it a couple of times, and weave in the ends.

Cheeks:
Starting with a Magic Ring
Round 1: 6 Hdc in ring, join, Ch.1
Round 2: 2 Hdc in each stitch around, join.
Fasten off,  leaving enough tail for attaching to the hat.

Bow Pattern:

Chain 10, SC in 2nd Ch from hook and in remaining chains, chain 1, turn
Row 2 - 4: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn.
At the end of row 4, continue to SC around the edges, join to 1st SC, fasten off and weave in ends. Crease bow, wrap yarn around, tighten, and knot. Then attach to hat by wrapping yarn around the bow, through the hat, a few times; knot, tie off, and weave ends.
